Look, not to brag, but we have one of the most passionate, switched-on, and weed-obsessed audiences out there. That’s why we love picking their brilliant little brains. So, we checked the pulse of the women’s weed community with a big survey. Again. (You know how we love a giant survey). And what more obvious a topic to cover than simply “smoking weed.”
As you may or may not know, we’re more than an online CBD store. We’re staunch advocates for the people who love weed and for the plant—the whole plant. We celebrate weed and the people who smoke it, and we aren’t big fans of the overall sanitization of the market that’s come with legalization and the rise of CBD wellness marketing.
So naturally, we needed to know where you, our community, stood. After all, we want everything we do to be inspired by you. (We have some things brewing, by the way. Weed things.)
So we surveyed more than 1,000 people and the results are in. And guess what? More than 95 percent of the tons of people surveyed are weed smokers. Shocker, right?! But aside from that piece of breaking news, we were actually kinda surprised to learn about how often they smoke cannabis, how, why, and with what methods.
Again, not to brag. But this is a big cohort. It might even be the biggest women-focused survey of active weed smokers out there. For that, we’re proud. And no matter who you are, we hope you get something out of this exercise in information sharing. The results might even surprise you.
How often do weed smokers partake in the plant?
Have you ever wondered how often your fellow plant lovers are actually lighting up, compared to you? Well firstly, comparison is the thief of joy, and secondly, we have a little intel to help answer that question. According to our survey’s participants, 65 percent of people who love weed smoke it (in one form or another) every single day. Another 20 percent typically smoke weekly and the remaining 15 percent? They’re of the monthly or occasional persuasion. To each their own, we say!
How many people smoke THC versus CBD?
Considering “smoking weed” doesn’t automatically equate to getting high on THC-heavy flower anymore, that’s a great question. Are THC smokers against straight up CBD? Another good one. According to our cohort, 66 percent of weed smokers see THC and CBD like two of their own children; they love them both equally. Meanwhile, 31 percent prefer all-out THC, which makes sense since it’s such a different experience. Only three percent of people actually prefer smoking CBD. Interesting, non?
Exactly how popular are joints?
By now you’re probably aware of the crush we have on the humble, good ol’ fashioned joint. And we’re not alone. According to our smoking weed survey, half of all weed-smoking people prefer smoking a joint (whether pre-rolls or handmade) to any other form of cannabis consumption. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, ya know? The other 45 percent say they usually reach for a pipe, bong, or vape. Whatever works, bb.
What do the people want from weed?
We all have our reasons for smoking weed. Hell, most of us have a handful of ‘em. So when we asked our survey group why they reach for the plant, the general theme was: to chill. Relatable. In fact, 90 percent of our weed-loving fam smoke joints or pre-rolls to reduce stress. Another 70 percent of the overall group also approach weed to help improve their sleep, and a whopping 83 percent simply do it to have a shit ton of fun. Same, girl. Same.
What *kind* of high do most people go for?
Just like our reasons for smoking weed to begin with, the kind of high we prefer to experience runs the whole gamut, from subtle to all-out stoned. According to our thousand-strong cohort, the most popular kind of high to get is “slight but functioning.” For them, it’s all about having great convos and getting stuff done. We like that. The next most popular high people look for is a “relaxing” high, while another 18 percent want a “giggly” high (who doesn’t?). The remaining 12 percent of those surveyed do, in fact, want to get super duper high. Love that.
What about smoking weed versus drinking alcohol?
Ahh, the age old question. We’re obsessed with the conversation around going “Cali sober” and the reasons why people might prefer cannabis over alcohol or vice versa. Maybe you’re wondering how smoking weed affects your peers and their desire to drink? Well, for our audience of conscious cannabis consumers, weed has replaced alcohol completely in 65 percent of cases. And they’ve never looked back. That’s pretty incredible, right? For 20 percent of people we surveyed, weed and alcohol play different but equal roles in their life, so they thoughtfully engage with both. The other 15 percent? They don’t drink or smoke, or both.
