The NEST | Episode 002 on Motherhood

Episode 002 of The NEST — the talkshow about the things we don't talk about — unpacks motherhood from the POV of three women each doing it (or not) their own way.

Societal expectations around motherhood can be pretty overwhelming at times. There are pressures to hurry up and get pregnant. To freeze our eggs. To keep the baby. To not keep the baby or to avoid pregnancy altogether for the sake of our careers. Then the business of actually having a baby piles on a whole new set of expectations and judgements. To co-sleep or not to co-sleep. To coddle or not to coddle. To sleep train or not to sleep train. To breastfeed or not to breastfeed. To be a mother who consumes cannabis or to abstain completely.

Host Missy Modell sits down with comedian Remy Kassimir, jewelry designer Stella Simona, and cannabis educator Keira Sumimoto — three women each on their own unique journey — to unpack the ups and the downs of being a mom and of *thinking* about becoming a mom — at least someday.

Hosted by Missy Modell, The NEST is a talkshow that tackles the topics that are important to women — things like periods, motherhood, body image, anxiety, finances and more — with a goal to dismantle long held beliefs and shine a fresh light on what it means to be a woman.

The NEST is a co-production of Miss Grass and PRØHBTD Media. Episode oo3 airs October 19. Stay tuned!
